Water. Don't compromise on the elixir of life!

This page is short and has a simple message but I can promise you it is the most important message you will ever read if you are serious about living a healthy life!

Water covers around 70% of the Earth's surface and makes up about 65% of your body and 70% of your brain!!! These facts alone should indicate the importance of water to our planet and indeed every living thing. Without water you would die within 3 days so it is extremely important that the quality of the water you consume is the best you can possibly get. Think about it because it makes complete sense. You may think to yourself, 'I have been drinking tap water all my life and it never harmed me' and of course you would be correct. But, that still does not change the fact that tap water is treated with chemicals like fluoride, chlorine and chloramine (which leaves ammonia as a residue) to make it 'safe' to drink. Tap water also contains excessive levels of heavy metals and pesticides which are linked to fatigue, headaches, lethargy and even cancer.

Water drawn from household sources is good for showering and washing clothes but under no circumstances should it be used for drinking (including tea and coffee) or cooking without first being filtered. I am not saying here that this water is unsafe because I am not a chemist and cannot prove it but there is plenty of evidence out there to suggest this! For example; fish live in water as a species but if you keep fish as pets you will know that tap water has to be chemically adjusted and chlorine/ammonia neutralised before you put fish into it or they will quickly die! This tells you a lot about tap water!

My message to you: ALWAYS buy good quality bottled water for drinking and cooking. If you can't afford to buy bottled water regularly then buy a filter jug (around £10) and triple filter every drop for a good alternative. The cartridges are cheap (around £3, Ebay) and will filter over 100L of water, they can also be recycled so there is a balanced impact on the environment. Remember, the average person will only consume about two litres a day including cooking so go for it, make the change now!!!

I recommend that you use free range and organic produce for every recipe, diet, juice and detox found within this site. There is no substitute for good quality food!
