Mechanical juicer

The mechanical juicer is a very versatile machine and they are cheap but all this comes at a price. The mechanical juicer is ideally suited to juicing leafy greens and grass/sprouts. It will handle soft fruit without much problem but will struggle with hard fruits and vegetables. The mechanical juicer is very portable too so you can take it anywhere (even where there is no electricity). Overall it is a handy machine and I would certainly recommend one as a back up but they can't cut it if you juice a lot, especially vegetables.

How it works:
It works exactly the same as a masticating juicer except it is powered by your arm!

I am not going to list the main advantages or disadvantages of this machine against centrifugal and masticating juicers because it really is a different animal and I don't think it is a fair comparison. What I will say to sum them up is cheap, portable, a good back up but not a serious juicing machine.
